Thursday, December 8, 7 PM
Springbrook Elementary School, Naperville

On September 29, KidsMatter hosted the Race To Nowhere documentary film.  This full length film was inspired by a series of wake-up calls that made the filmmaker look closely at the relentless pressure to perform that children face today – and the resultant stress and pressures that can cripple children both academically and social-emotionally. 128 people signed up and ten social service organizations were present with materials and resources to support local families.

On December 8th at 7 PM, Spring Brook Elementary School in District 204, located at 2700 Seiler Drive Naperville, with be showing the Race To Nowhere film. KidsMatter will be co-hosting this event.  Local health and human service agencies will be present before and after the film to share their resources.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to KidsMatter for Parent Programs.

Film’s content:  A concerned mother turned filmmaker aimed her camera at the high-stakes, high-pressure culture that has invaded schools and children’s lives, creating unhealthy, disengaged, unprepared and stressed-out youth.
