The Naperville Benchmark Survey (Return to Our Story)
The Search Institute conducted a survey of over 250,000 youth in grades 6 to 12 that
identifies 40 building blocks, or Developmental Assets, that all children and
adolescents need to grow up healthy, responsible and caring. Naperville students
(Naperville District 203) took the survey in November of 1998.
The average for Naperville is
21.1 assets with the following breakdown:
0 - 10 assets .................................. 10% of surveyed
students
11 - 20 assets ..................................38% of surveyed students
21 - 30 assets ..................................38% of surveyed students
31 - 40 assets ..................................14% of surveyed students
