KidsMatter promotes the Power of Parenting!
Did you know that eating dinner frequently with your children and teens – and being involved in their lives – are simple effective ways to reduce their risk of substance abuse?
Research by CASA, The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, consistently finds that the more often children eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs. For more information on how you can keep kids mentally healthy and drug free click here.
KidsMatter has expanded National Family Day and created Families Matter! Month as a month-long celebration of opportunities for fun outings and meal times together. Families Matter! Month is not just for families. It is for the entire community to celebrate, including businesses, religious organizations and community groups. Last year we had a week dedicated to focus on eating and doing activities as a family. This year we are devoting a whole month to bring families together!
